PURPOSE OF THE POSTION:

Support plant operations through attentive and reliable machine performance in an industrial setting.

Essential Job Functions:

Daily monitoring and recording of all plant support equipment to ensure equipment is operating within normal parameters.

Maintains and repairs equipment such as motors, pneumatics, vacuum systems, heating elements, conveying systems, and equipment related to thermoforming.

Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to equipment and maintains repair records of all work performed.

Thorough inspection of electrical and mechanical aspects of the equipment and replacing/repairing equipment during assigned Preventative Maintenance to ensure machine reliability.

Conducts tests to locate mechanical and electrical system malfunctions using the appropriate tools, then disassembles and reassembles equipment to make repairs.

Repairs or replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts according to equipment manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications related to equipment.

Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, contactors, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.

Observes and tests the operation of electronics, motors, heater bands, power sources, contactors, and relays of the equipment in order to verify the adequacy of repairs.

Completion of assigned work orders and recording of all findings.

Cleans, lubricates, adjusts machinery and equipment as needed to bring equipment back into manufactures specifications.

Troubleshoots all malfunctions on equipment and make repairs to faulty parts.

Periodically perform installation of new equipment, electronic equipment and electrical wiring in compliance to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards.

Works with and supports operations to ensure equipment is functioning properly.

Education and Experience:

Must have knowledge of the methods, equipment and materials used in the electrical trade.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Completion of a recognized vocational education program in electrical or industrial electrical or industrial training –OR- completion of a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship Program and three out of the last five years’ journey-level experience as an electrician in the industrial maintenance field

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Reads and understands blue prints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Must possess good reasoning skills to operate and trouble shoot machine processes.

Must be able to conduct tests to locate mechanical and Electrical system malfunction.

Repairs electrical equipment. Wire equipment per NEC 2010 code.

Knowledge of how to use and read a dial indicator.

Basic knowledge of machine tools, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
