Manufacturing Month

National Manufacturing Day Mission

National Manufacturing Day addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.

What is Manufacturing Day?

National Manufacturing Day is observed annually on the first Friday in October. Throughout the month, manufacturers typically open their doors to give local middle and high school students a behind the scenes look into what goes on in a manufacturing facility. This year, we are bringing the tours to the students virtually.  Using a virtual platform, the manufacturers have created a virtual plant tour and will be live to answer student questions.  Visit our Manufacturing Hub for a list of all the tours and events, then join us live to be part of these exciting events!
