Customer Service and Data Entry

Job Description

As a member of the customer service team, individuals are responsible for processing orders, answering phones, assisting customers, and providing basic technical support. This includes using proper phone etiquette, clear and effective communication, and applying positive rapport-building techniques to ensure customer satisfaction and support the company’s overall business development objectives. In addition, the individual must collaborate respectfully with team members and other departments to maintain a productive work environment and deliver a high standard of service.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling order processing, including taking customer orders, verifying product availability, tracking shipments, and managing returns or exchanges, to ensure accurate and timely order entry, monitor order status, and communicate updates to customers.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products or services and stay updated on product features, pricing, promotions, and policies to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Engage in effective communication with customers to understand their needs and concerns including listening, asking questions, and providing clear and concise responses.
  • Focus on building and maintaining positive relationships with customers to create a personalized and friendly experience, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. 
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of Inside Sales.
  • Receive, verify, and process credit card payments ensuring billing accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments and representatives to resolve issues efficiently and ensure customers are satisfied with company services and support.
  • Complete customer surveys via telephone quarterly.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures of confidentiality requirements, security protocols, and ethical standards to protect customer information and maintain professionalism.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations and departmental goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or working towards a bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Experience or familiarity with marketing concepts is a plus.
  • 1+ years of professional experience or direct exposure to inside sales and customer service.
  • PC skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
  • Personable with a natural ability to develop strong customer relationships based on respect, integrity, follow through and friendliness.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus and ensuring all sales orders are processed according to defined target.
