Production - Assembler

Job Summary

Assemblers perform essential functions to build products specific to each department (e.g., cables, batteries, etc.). They are responsible for assembling component parts according to drawings, ATPs, or schematics and must be able to use hand tools and mechanical equipment effectively.

Essential Functions

  1. Perform any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems:
    • Read and interpret work orders
    • Follow production ATPs, drawings, and sample assemblies
    • Receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
  2. Position and align parts in specified relationships to each other, sometimes using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.
  3. Join or secure parts in place using operations such as crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, or press-fitting, with hand tools, power tools, machines, and other equipment.
  4. Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points using soldering, welding, or related bonding procedures and equipment.
  5. Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
  6. Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, connecting, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  7. Conduct in-process testing and inspection using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and quality standards.
  8. May perform assembly operations under a microscope or other magnifying devices.

Job Requirements

All employees in the “Assembler” position at BaseWest are expected to:

  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality, reporting to work on time daily and working a full designated shift

Status and Hours

This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
