Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for leading the technical proposal team through contract award, and ultimately the design and development of the product to customer fulfillment. Direct customer contact and relationships are utilized to ensure customer contracts achieve customer satisfaction for assigned customers and products. Requires regular customer interface to ensure Sales, Operations and Engineering departments are aligned for on-time delivery of quality product to the customer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary function is to control costs, manage to the schedule and mitigate scope changes.
Provides accurate and risk-based forecasts for non-recurring engineering payment milestones and initial hardware deliveries.
Establishes project timelines and maintains database of task, status of tasks and other defined project metrics. Monitors schedules, scope creep and communication to ensure satisfactory completion of contract requirements within schedule and budget constraints.
Disseminates project requirements to other Aerosonic constituents and works with the functional managers to ensure resources are applied to meet the company’s commitments.
Reviews, discusses, and resolves project issues with various Aerosonic functional departments.
Works with other Project Managers and Project Engineers to identify and communicate schedule and risk status and develop and drive resolution on a regular and timely basis. Escalates as appropriate for visibility to the Aerosonic Business Unit management team and Senior Leadership.
Leads & facilitates meetings with various departments to review project milestones and implements corrective actions as needed.
Partners with sales, finance, engineering and Aerosonic management to assist in bidding and award negotiations directly with the customer.
Prepares and presents monthly project reviews on status of schedule, financial, risk mitigation, manpower and other aspects of assigned projects.
Helps establish project goals and supporting tactics in company business plans. Develops reportable key performance indicators with Business Unit Management.
Defines and manages project Risk Management plan and associated metrics.
Maintains an active stakeholder register and communication plan.
May represent the company at project planning meetings.
Provides interface and coordination with customers, contractors, and vendors to review work progress.
Must be able to maintain composure while under intense pressure and deadlines.
Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Ability to work effectively in an environment where tact, sensitivity, respect, tenacity, persuasive ability, and decisiveness are required for success.

Constantly working with computers and computer programs, which require long periods of sitting. Eyestrain could be a factor.
